The 2008 issue of anan is out with 2008’s rankings of the top men as voted by female readers. This is a huge yearly ranking, with women of all ages sending in their votes. And guess who won, for the fifteenth year in a row?
Don’t hold your breath now – Kimura Takuya. Is anyone surprised? And is anyone surprised he also won the other categories, like best boyfriend and most-wanted-in-bed? Just for good measure, the entire list (with changes from last year’s rankings and pictures, for your reference 😉 ) goes:

Yamashita Tomohisa of NEWS, or who we all fondly know as Yamapi, has graduated from Meiji University with a degree in marketing! At the last graduating period, he was a few credits short – but he has made it up and is now a graduate.

Now that my music collection is temporarily out of commission, I’m turning to CDs again – and it hit me how little official Japanese music I own. I love J-pop – I have thousands of J-pop songs by several artists that I love, and I love watching PVs and concert DVDs – but as for the ones I buy, this is it.
Here’s the question: what CDs do you own? Do you buy all releases that you like? Do you buy some releases that you like? Do you only buy overseas versions? Do you only buy pirated versions? Do you not buy anything at all? And if you do buy a lot of releases – how do you afford it?
NEWS’ next single “Happy Birthday” will be released on October 1st; the PV is now out.
The full song rip has already been out, so my thoughts on the song are still not that changed. After a few more – well, a lot more – listening, the song has grown on me considerably, but I still don’t think it’s that great a song. I do like some of the solo parts considerably, but parts of the song, whether it’s the melody or the beat or the mix of everything, irk me a little.
Well, talk about being really late about releases now that I’m mostly computer-less: alan releases her wind single “Kaze no Tegami” tomorrow, and I just heard it today.
One of the first things that struck me about this single was that the cover was gorgeous. No more of that one eye open, one eye close thing in the same pose – instead we get two gorgeous poses alan in a beautiful layered dress – it’s definitely an improvement.
KOH+, the duo of Fukuhara Masaharu and Shibasaki Kou that paired up with “Kiss Shite” for their 2007 drama Galileo, will pair up once again for their movie rendition of their hit drama. The film, plus a corresponding drama SP, will both premier on October 4th; “Sai Ai” will be released on October 1st.
KOH+ was an interesting duo. Shibasaki Kou, who does very poppy music, does the vocals that are backed with Fukuhara Masaharu, who’s known for his sensitive guitar rock. Their only song together, “Kiss Shite,” was poppy and edgy and fun. (It probably didn’t hurt that they had a great dynamic in the drama.)
