Nakashima Mika’s single “ORION” will be released November 12. The song is an insert song for the drama “Ryusei no Kizuna,” in which Mika also has a minor acting appearance.
What is it with the beginning of November and releases? It seems like half of all my favorite artists is releasing something during that time. Mika is no different, with the exception that I actually didn’t care much about the release of this single before. I haven’t really listened to anything of hers since she did “Hitoiro” for NANA; I mean, you have to agree with me that a lot of the songs she put out after then were really boring compared to her earlier works.

“Beautiful Days” is Arashi’s next single, to be released on November 5th. The title song is the theme song to the drama Ryusei no Kizuna, which stars member Ninomiya Kazunari.
You’d think with three insanely successful singles this year (it looks like Arashi is in a good position to take the distinction of the top selling single of 2008) they’d take a break – but nope, now it’s Nino’s turn to have a drama, and a song contributed to his activity.

Kanjani8 will release their second single of 2008, “Musekinin Hero,” on October 29th. It comes in three editions: two special CD+DVD editions that have different B-sides and live performances on the DVD, and a regular edition CD-only that has yet another B-side.

Rie fu’s next single “Romantic” will be released on November 12th.
It’s been almost a year since her last Japanese single “Home” was released in January. And, since it is Rie fu, I was expecting a sweet acoustic song like she’s known for. But there was a little tagline that said that “Romantic” was produced by Taku from m-flo, known for their synth hip-pop style – a completely unexpected choice for producer.

Ikimonogakari’s next single “Planetarium,” used as the ending theme to the NHK drama “Cat Street,” will be released on October 15th.

NEWS will be releasing their third album “color” on November 19th! Like their sophomore album “pacific,” there will be two editions, where the limited edition will come with a photo booklet, and the regular edition will have an extra track.

alan’s fourth single representing fire in her elements series, “Red Cliff ~Shin Sen~“, will be released October 15th. This Japanese version of the song was used in the Japanese release of the John Woo movie Red Cliff.

Summer season 2008 was terrific – granted, I’ve yet to finish all of them, but the ones I’ve watched and finished have been great. Unfortunately, it seems to be a trend that all the good dramas air in summer – how’s autumn looking up?
I’m checking out quite a few dramas out of loyalty for the stars I follow, but if I had to rec three to check out based on how the plot sounds, it’d be Ryusei no Kizuna, Bloody Monday, and Giragira. And now, to the dramas:
